Silkhaus, a Dubai-based short-term rental operator, is shutting down at the end of November 2026. The company cited the U.S.-Iran war, which began in late February, as the reason for closing after five years of operation.

"This bright chapter has come to a close following the sustained regional conflict and its effect on travel across the GCC, which continues to impact all segments of tourism and hospitality," Silkhaus said in a LinkedIn post Friday.

The closure reflects broader pressure on Dubai's holiday-home sector. Several airlines are staying out of Dubai into 2027, and forward bookings remain well below last year's levels. The winter peak season is unlikely to reverse the downturn for smaller operators. Industry observers expect more exits from the market.
