Emirates operates two shower spas on the upper deck of its A380 aircraft, available exclusively to first class passengers. The showers are oversized lavatories with enclosed showers and changing areas, a stark contrast to standard aircraft bathrooms.
Each shower spa comes stocked with VOYA toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body moisturizer, face wash, and individually wrapped soap. Gold-capped bottles are arranged on trays. Passengers also receive dental and shaving kits, combs, shower caps, cotton pads, cotton buds, and large bath towels.
Passengers receive five minutes of running water, which can be paused and restarted while soaping. The water pressure and temperature are adequate for comfortable washing. An indicator shows remaining time. After showering, Emirates serves fresh fruit and tea or coffee back at the passenger's suite.
The shower is available only on Emirates A380 first class. Boeing 777 first class does not offer this amenity. Passengers book shower times with crew, ideally early in the flight to ensure availability before arrival.
On a Mumbai to Dubai flight, one first class passenger used the shower with four total passengers aboard. The experience takes roughly five minutes of water use plus time to change and dry off, leaving minimal additional time on short flights.
